Tieing Literature into Writing

I love finding good children's literature that I can use to support or reinforce a concept such as idioms in writing. What better way than to use a story written in the very words spoken by kids themselves? Ted Arnold has really captured idioms not only in his writing but through wild and wacky illustrations. This is a fantastic way to challenge kids to think outside of the box with their writing.
